Dokta is a trading name of AIS Health Ltd, a UK healthcare provider registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and Companies House.

Safeguarding is a fundamental part of safe, high-quality care and is everyone’s responsibility.

The Safeguarding Lead is responsible for oversight, training, and escalation of safeguarding concerns.

Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to:

  • Children and young people under 18
  • Adults at risk as defined by the Care Act 2014
  • Anyone receiving care or services from Dokta

Recognising Abuse

Abuse can take many forms, including:

  • Physical abuse
  • Sexual abuse or exploitation
  • Psychological or emotional abuse
  • Neglect or acts of omission
  • Financial or material abuse
  • Discriminatory or organisational abuse
  • Domestic abuse, modern slavery, or radicalisation

What We Do If We Are Concerned

If a safeguarding concern is identified:

  • The safety of the individual is prioritised
  • Concerns are assessed by the Safeguarding Lead
  • Immediate risks result in emergency action
  • Concerns are reported to local safeguarding authorities where required
  • The Care Quality Commission is informed when appropriate

If someone is at immediate risk of harm, emergency services will be contacted.

Training and Safer Recruitment

All clinicians and staff receive regular safeguarding training appropriate to their role.

We operate safer recruitment processes, including enhanced DBS checks for relevant roles.
